Opening night is always exciting. After weeks of memorizing lines, learning lyrics and practicing choreography, it’s payoff time. A show in front of an appreciative and supportive audience. Thanks to BlackRidge Bank for being our opening night sponsor. One of our favorite parts of the night was meeting some young Newsie fans who could have joined us on stage. They looked great! And we loved seeing them in the audience.
Meet 3-year-old Emmett. If ever there was a Newsie superfan, he’s it. This was his fifth time seeing Newsies. He got hooked after seeing the Broadway musical on Netflix, then attended performances at Chanassen, West Fargo and Fargo North. We were so excited he came to see us! He even had a Newsies themed birthday party. He seemed a little shy when he met our Katherine Plummer, Sophia Klindt.
And he had a nice conversation with his doppelganger Kaden Moszer.
It’s nice to know if Kaden isn’t able to take the stage one night for whatever reason, Emmett is there to fill in. Thanks buddy! You are definitely a “King of New York.”
Watching Emmett watch, re”act” & sing along with Jack Kelly was as endearing to me as the show itself! Thank you to all the Newsies & especially Emmett’s favorite, Jack Kelly for making our night special. “Crunchy” runs a close 2nd. Willing & able agent, Grandma Cyd.
I attended the Sunday afternoon show, and it was absolutely outstanding! ALL of you and your director deserved the standing ovation at the end! We loved it!
Looks like a lot of great memories!
