When you are involved in the fall musical, EM Break is definitely NOT a break!
We had the honor of working with Johnny Pickett from Flying by Foy, a company based out of Vegas. “Johnny P” and Foy are the premier flying company in the nation – flying performers from the Super Bowl halftimes to Broadway shows. Many current theatre dads and even a past theatre dads (THANKS FRANK PIERCE) will be working the ropes backstage during the production.
While this break was filled with a lot of hard work, there was still many traditions honored. We bonded over Duane’s pizza, swimming at a pool party, creating blanket forts, and a kickball tournament (a new tradition!?).
Also over EM “Break”, Moorhead High Theater received free tickets and transportation to Minneapolis to see the Broadway production of The Little Mermaid. Company members were also lucky to work with Minneapolis theatre professionals (and former Little Mermaid cast members) Tyler Michaels and Caroline Innerbichler in a workshop setting. Michaels and Innerbichler provided valuable acting advice. A huge “thank you” to Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Spotlight Musical Theatre program for a great day of performances and learning.
On behalf of the entire company, we send a sincere thank you to the parents and volunteers who come in to help with costuming and the set, who brought treats, and who hosted cast get togethers. Thank you to alumni as well for stopping by and for penning the many letters filled with love and support through out this week! The bond in this theater family gets stronger and stronger everyday.
